The transfer window for college football is officially open, and Penn State is already making some moves to try and stabilize the roster. Penn State had a large number of players opt to explore their options in the transfer portal and the majority of its Class of 2026 had dismantled quickly after an in-season coaching change. That leaves plenty of room to work for Matt Campbell and his staff with the help of the transfer portal.
We will keep track of all of the transfer portal additions for Penn State with our updated transfer portal commitment tracker as commitments are confirmed.

Penn State Transfer Portal Additions
Benjamin Brahmer, Tight End
- Former school: Iowa State
With Penn State seeing a number of tight ends entering the transfer portal, the addition of Benjamin Brahmer is a welcome one to get the transfer portal season started. Brahmer was a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award for the nation’s top tight end in 2025. Brahmer caught 37 passes for 436 yards and 6 touchdowns with Iowa State in 2025.
Will Tompkins, Offensive Line
- Former school: Iowa State
Penn State had four offensive linemen enter the transfer portal, so the position was an obvious area of need for Matt Campbell and his staff right away. The Nittany Lions quickly added a commitment from Iowa State offensive lineman Will Tompkins, a three-star recruit in Iowa State’s Class of 2025. Tompkins brings good size to the offensive line right away and will have four years of eligibility upon his arrival.
