The Penn State Nittany Lions came away with one of the more impressive wins over the weekend, kicking off the Matt Campbell era in style.
Penn State took down Marshall 45-0, showing pure dominance out on the field. This win summed up all the hard work that the Nittany Lions had put into the offseason, and it was a great way for the team to start the new season.
But like any season, teams can't linger on a big win for too long. Penn State is now getting ready for their upcoming matchup with the Temple Owls this weekend.
This will mark the first road game for Penn State this season, giving another challenge for the program to overcome. Even with Temple not being viewed as a highly-rated team, road games are tough anywhere in college football due to the rowdy environments.
But before the game, Penn State head coach Matt Campbell dropped some injury updates on a few players. Campbell said that tight end Gabe Burkle and linebacker Alex Tatsch will be available for the contest against the Owls.

Burkle didn't play in the season opener for Penn State due to a knee injury. The tight end tried to play, warming up for the contest, but in the end, he wasn't able to give it a go.
But like many others on the Nittany Lions, he followed Campbell to the program from Iowa State. Last season, Burkle caught 26 passes for 302 yards and one touchdown.
If anything, having more depth available could be good for the Nittany Lions, giving guys a chance to make an impact on the games. Five other tight ends were able to get into the game against Marshall last weekend.
As for Tatsch, he suffered an undisclosed injury before the team's bowl game last season. But he has been progressing well, and is now on track to return to the field this week.
Playing for Penn State as a freshman last season, Tatsch played in six games, recording 14 total tackles and one pass deflection. The program has been high on the upside of Tatsch, so his injury update gives them a chance to see how he can perform in his second year.
All in all, the Nittany Lions seem to be relatively healthy entering Week 2 of the season, which bodes well for them as a team. This game against Temple offers them a chance to start 2-0, which could give this unit some real confidence early in the year.
Penn State will then host the Buffalo Bulls in Week 3, going back to Beaver Stadium for the matchup.
