Penn State dropped to 0-3 in Big Ten play on Saturday night following a 31-23 loss against #19 USC. The oddsmakers don’t like the Nittany Lions chances of getting their first conference victory when they visit Michigan on Saturday. Penn State is nearly a touchdown underdog, with Michigan opening as a 6.5-point favorite.

Penn State and Michigan are a combined 0-5 against Big Ten teams. Michigan lost to Iowa as the Hawkeyes scored a touchdown on the final play of regulation to stun the Wolverines, 20-19. Michigan then was then blanked by Minnesota in the second half in a 20-14 loss at home. They are now coming off a bye as they attempt to find answers to salvage their season.

Like Penn State, the Wolverines have had a hard time moving the ball and putting up points. Former five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood has not looked the part, struggling as a passer while requiring a heavy workload in the ground game to give the offense any hope of productivity.

While Penn State’s offense looked sharper against USC, they were ultimately doomed by settling for too many field goals as they were outpaced by a Trojans offense loaded with talent. While the Nittany Lions made the USC offense earn their 31 points, they just did not have any answers to get them off the field.

Penn State and Michigan kick off at 3:30 p.m. in The Big House, with game coverage to be determined.
