Recruiting in college football is a long, grueling process that never ends for a school and its coaching staff. So, if current commits or players on the roster can help out in that area, it’s a huge weight off the shoulders of the men running the show.

Well, Penn State is building such strong recruiting classes that they finally get to participate in that practice. The school offered four-star defensive end Jeremiah Figaro, and he immediately made plans to visit during the 2026 White Out game.

While several factors likely went into his decision to visit, at least one of them had to do with quarterback commit Will Wood. When asked about his relationship with the four-star prospect, Figaro told Blue White Illustrated, “That’s my boy… We’ve gone to the same camps and our parents have met each other. I see him all around. We’ve been friends for a couple of years.”

The fact that Figaro planned a visit so quickly and has at least one strong connection to the program should make Penn State feel optimistic. There aren’t many strong contenders for his services just yet, with Notre Dame being the most notable, so now would be the time to recruit him hard.

It seems like there is some mutual interest between Figaro and the Nittany Lions, and Wood could be a big reason for it.
