PFF ranks Michigan State's top offensive players in win over Toledo

Michigan State football got the 2026 season started with a 30-20 win over Toledo. The Spartans, playing their first game under new head coach Pat Fitzgerald, got the tenure started right with a victory.
While it was a double digit victory, things were not always pretty for the Spartans, who needed to overcome a small deficit in the fourth quarter after having a very disappointing third quarter. In the end, though, the Spartans were victorious and are 1-0 on the season.
In the win, the Spartans offense had one of the most successful performances that Spartan fans have seen since 2021, scoring on 7-of-10 drives. The unit also produced 397 total yards, with 247 coming through the air, and another 150 coming on the ground.
After looking at the film, and evaluating the game, Pro Football Focus (Subscription Required) gave out their grades for the Spartans in the game.
Check out the top five offensive players for the Spartans, according to PFF:
QB Alessio Milivojevic – 87.4
Michigan State's leader and quarterback played within himself, giving Spartans fans exactly what they expected from their signal caller. Milivojevic went 26-for-34 for 247 yards and a touchdown in the win.
WR Rodney Bullard – 72.3
After being granted one last year of eligibility, Bullard showed exactly why Spartans fans should be excited for his addition to the offense in 2026. Bullard finished with seven catches, 90 yards and a touchdown.
RB Cam Edwards – 69.5
The UConn running back transfer came as advertised, with the Spartan running back putting on a show on Friday night. Edwards shiftiness led the MSU running game with 27 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown.
C Trent Fraley – 69.5
It was a shaky game for the Spartans offensive line, but one player that excelled was the North Dakota State center transfer Trent Fraley. The man at the middle of the offense, and a captain of the team, stayed strong in both pass protection and run blocking.
WR KK Smith – 67.8
A Notre Dame transfer, Smith was looking for more playing time opportunities and is trying to get it in East Lansing. He only played 11 snaps on Friday, but made them quality, and after an injury filled August, could be a sign for more things to come this season.
