Early signing day for college football players begins on Dec. 3 and some Cincinnati athletes have gotten national attention for their signing day decisions.
Moeller senior quarterback and baseball standout Matt Ponatoski said on Instagram Sunday he was sticking to an original plan to sign in February with the University of Kentucky despite the Wildcats' firing head coach Mark Stoops.
On Dec. 2, Ponatoski posted that his plans had changed and he would sign with Kentucky on Dec. 3. This came after Kentucky hired Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein as its new head coach. Stein was Oregon's lead recruiter in trying to land Ponatoski.
"Why wait?" was Ponatoski's message in a post on X.
