Poll: Which Binghamton-area varsity football player had the best Week 2?

Binghamton-area high school varsity football teams are ushering in the new season, and several local players have put up big performances and playoff-level stats early this season.

Here are a few players who stood out in the second week of Section 4 high school football.

Mason Colgan [Windsor Central, sr.]: Colgan ran for 223 yards and scored two touchdowns, including a 48-yard score in Windsor’s dominant 48-8 victory over Walton.

Sam Paske [Chenango Forks, sr.]: Paske went 4-for-4 with 98 passing yards in Chenango Forks’ 40-0 victory over Tioga, connecting with fellow teammate Conner Dunagan, who had three receiving touchdowns.

Robert Mabry Jr. [Union-Endicott, sr.]: Mabry put on a show, scoring three rushing touchdowns in the first quarter of the Tigers’ 37-21 game against West Genesee (Section 3), including a 62-yard touchdown run. Finished with 110 yards, averaging 22 yards per carry.

Kameron McClain [Groton, jr.]: McClain threw for 302 yards and five touchdowns in Groton’s dominant 72-12 victory over Greene/Oxford. He went 8-for-11, averaging 27.5 yards per pass, following up his 300+ yard performance in Week 1, in which Groton won 66-6 against Sidney.

Nolan Weed [Susquehanna Valley, jr.]: Weed threw for 115 yards and three touchdowns and had one rushing touchdown in the Sabers’ 47-16 win against Trumansburg.
