ESPN College GameDay will be in Provo this weekend and all eyes are going to be on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish against the BYU Cougars. Both teams are undefeated and both teams are bringing an elite defense to the fight.
But that’s not the only game to pay attention to this weekend if you’re a Big 12 fan. We’ve got another top-25 matchup down in Houston. Oklahoma State will take on the Cougars, which could turn into a high-scoring affair. Plus, there is the Revivalry between TCU vs. Baylor.
Here’s how every Big 12 game could play out this weekend.

No. 2 Notre Dame vs. No. 8 BYU
College GameDay will be in Provo this weekend and all eyes will be on the Cougars to see if they can knock off Notre Dame.
And this game will come down to defense. Notre Dame has the No. 1 defense, while BYU has the No. 7 defense. If BYU is going to upset the Irish, it can’t get into a high-speed chase. The Cougars need to control the clock and move methodically down the field. Not having running back LJ Martin kills BYU’s offense, and it puts more pressure on Bear Bachmeier to make magic happen.
For Notre Dame, the Irish are clicking on all cylinders. CJ Carr remains impressive, but this will be Notre Dame’s biggest challenge yet. Plus, Notre Dame still has to play Miami later this season, and a loss this weekend could put the Irish in a bind for the College Football Playoff.
Final score: Notre Dame 24, BYU 20
No. 18 Oklahoma State vs. No. 20 Houston
Finally, both of these offenses appear to be clicking. Houston struggled to score the ball earlier this season, but the Cougars cleaned up Kansas State’s defense last week and Conner Weigman is rolling.
Oklahoma State has been rolling offensively, but the Cowboys’ defense is the main question. Oklahoma State kept UCF in the game much longer than it should’ve last weekend, even with the Knights playing their backup quarterback.
This has a real chance to become a barn burner of a game, but we aren’t sure if Oklahoma State can make the stops when it needs them. Weigman and Co. could’ve beaten Texas Tech earlier this season, and this will be their first chance of revenge against a top-25 team.
Final score: Houston 38, Oklahoma State 34
The rest of the games will be quick-hitter style:
- West Virginia 34, Cincinnati 31
- Kansas State 35, Kansas 24
- No. 10 Texas Tech 31, Arizona State 27
- Baylor 31, TCU 27
- No. 11 Utah 41, Colorado 24
