Ikenna Ezeogu was a three-star recruit in Iowa State‘s Class of 2022 under head coach Matt Campbell. The Missouri native committed to Iowa State over offers from Arizona State and Illinois, among others including Big Ten offers from Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.
Penn State was not among the schools noted to be showing any recruiting interest in Ezeogu in the 2022 recruiting cycle. But when Campbell left Iowa State for Penn State, Ezeogu was one of the key transfers to make the decision to follow the coach to Happy Valley. 247Sports rated Ezeogu as a three-star transfer player in the transfer window for the Class of 2026.
Career Stats
Ikenna Ezeogu started in 11 games for Iowa State in the 2025 season, his first season as a trusted starter for the Cyclones. In those 11 starts, Ezeogu recorded 25 tackles with 3 TFL and 1 sack. Ezeogu played in 14 games with 1 start in the 2024 season and appeared in 13 games in the 2023 season for Iowa State.
Depth Chart Overview
Ikenna Ezeogu will be one of the key transfers coming over to Penn State from Iowa State that will be filling a key role right away. Whether he is a starter or not remains to be seen, although the starting experience he brings from Iowa State under Matt Campbell may help his case to be at the top of the depth chart for the Penn State defensive line. Regardless, expect him to flourish at Penn State and play a pivotal role on the field off the edge.
