Penn State football will have a completely overhauled roster to get to know in 2026 under new head coach Matt Campbell. Following one of the most active offseasons in recent memory for Penn State with a flurry of activity in the transfer portal, fans will have a lot of catching up to do in getting to know this year’s Penn State roster. Recruiting Rankings
Class of 2025: Composite 4-star recruit, No. 26 offensive tackle per 247Sports
Owen Aliciene was one of the top players from the New England area in the Class of 2025, and the second-ranked player overlal form Connecticut according to his rankings on 247Sports. Penn State was among the schools showing some early interest in his recruiting with an offer extended in May 2023. Penn State quickly emerged as a favorite as the Nittany Lions welcomed Aliciene for one of his first recruiting visits in his recruiting process in July 2023. As more offers came in, Penn State remained the favorite with more visits lined up and a commitment in January 2024. He never wavered from that commitment and signed with Penn State in the early signing period for the Class of 2025 in December 2024. He enrolled the following February.
Career Stats
Despite enrolling early a year ago, Owen Aliciene appeared in just one game for the Nittany Lions during his true freshman season of 2025.
Depth Chart Overview
It is widely expected that Owen Aliciene will be playing a top backup role on the offensive line in 2026. Projected as an offensive tackle, the two starting tackle positions will likely be anchored by returning Anthony Donkoh (who is expected to slide over from right guard to right tackle) and either Malachi Goodman or Garrett Sexton at left tackle.

Owen Aliciene was a multi-sport athlete in high school. In addition to being a standout football player, Aliciene also played lacrosse for Avon Old Farms.
