Purdue football-Illinois live game updates today: Score, stats, schedule, highlights

CHAMPAIGN, IL — Illinois has been a measuring stick for several Purdue football storylines, leaving intrigue for today's game.

Boilermakers quarterback Ryan Browne earned his first start in a double-overtime loss the last time they visited the Fighting Illini. Six days ago, first-year defensive coordinator Bobby Hauck was fired, leading Purdue fans to believe their first-year coordinator Kevin Kane should also be. But those issues extend deeper.

Saturday figures to be an opportunity to right some wrongs. Purdue has shown an explosive offense with its passing attack. The Boilermakers, though, hope it leads to ending a 19-game losing streak against Big Ten opponents, and 23 against Power Four opponents and Notre Dame.
