"The Game" Between Ohio State and Michigan to be Featured in It's Familiar Slot

The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines are back in their normal time slot in the 2026 season.

On Monday, FOX announced that they used one of their selections on the Ohio State versus Michigan Game on its normal, Thanksgiving Day weekend Saturday. The Game will be featured at its normal time slot, a 12:00 PM kickoff inside Ohio Stadium.

It has been quite some time since the Buckeyes topped the Wolverines in Columbus. The last time that happened was eight years ago, 2018, when Ohio State beat Michigan 62-39.

Late quarterback Dwayne Haskins was red hot that November afternoon. He threw for 396 yards and a total of six touchdowns as the Buckeyes routed the Wolverines. Parris Campbell led the way with six catches for 192 yards and two scores through the air.

Ohio State got back on the board last year with a convincing 27-9 order-restoring victory in Ann Arbor. It was a game that Ohio State needed very badly to just reset the rivalry.

Prior to that win, they had been on a four-year losing streak for the Buckeyes. Two of which came during the Jim Harbaugh cheating era, and then the other two were just very bizarre losses.

The worst one of them all was Ohio State's 13-10 loss a month and a half before they would go on to win the National Championship in dominating fashion.

The 2026 victory does feel like it reset the Buckeyes and put them back in front in the greatest rivalry in all of sports.

However, up north, there is a new regime in place. 2026 will mark the first year in the Kyle Wittingham era, one that hopes to return the Wolverines to glory. Wittingham comes from Utah, where he consistently had the Utes competing at the top of the Big 12 and nationally.

The rivalry began all the way back in 1897, and Michigan currently holds a 62-52-6 record against the Buckeyes. However, since the turn of the millennium, Ohio State has been dominating.

They are 18-7 in The Game since 2000, including two separate win streaks of both seven and eight straight games.

The next version of the rivalry comes our way on Saturday, November 28 at Noon on FOX.
