One week after completing the high school football season as Florida’s only undefeated state champion, Raines is ready to celebrate the victorious Vikings with a parade.
The city of Jacksonville announced plans for the Raines victory parade, scheduled to begin on 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20.
The parade will begin at Lonnie C. Miller Sr. Regional Park, 7689 Price Road, then continue east-southeast along Moncrief Road to the Raines campus. The parade route will cover slightly less than two miles.
On Dec. 18, Mayor Donna Deegan also issued a proclamation honoring Raines football in an afternoon ceremony at the school auditorium.
The mayor declared Raines Football Day, presenting the team with a ceremonial key to the city and head coach Donovan Masline with two tickets to the Super Bowl in California.
Raines won its fourth Florida High School Athletic Association football championship on Dec. 12, defeating top-seeded Miami Northwestern 23-22 in the Class 3A final at Pitbull Stadium.
Since the FHSAA instituted its football championship tournament, the Raines teams of 1997 and 2025 are the only ones in Duval County public school history to complete a perfect season.
