Rams Star Puka Nacua Spotted at Bat Mitzvah After Controversial Offseason

Puka Nacua, one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and a star for the Los Angeles Rams, has had a tumultuous offseason, including allegations that he bit a woman and two instances of alleged antisemitism.

It seems he’s working to rectify his issues though, first by entering rehab and now by building a relationship with the Jewish community in LA.

Michael Duarte of the California Post reported that Nacua was spotted at a Bat Mitzvah on Aug. 23, and footage from the event captured a smiling Nacua dancing and clapping with the music.

“The Rams star wide receiver was reportedly invited by the parents of the girl celebrating her Bat Mitzvah, the Jewish milestone traditionally marking a girl’s entrance into religious adulthood at age 12,” Duarte wrote. “In the videos, Nacua helps carry the guest of honor toward the stage before later being spotted dancing among the crowd.”

Puka Nacua’s relationship with Judaism

Nacua is not Jewish himself, as he was raised Mormon and attended the Church of Latter Day Saints-affiliated Brigham Young University, as well as Washington.

It seems he’s developing an appreciation for the faith and culture, though, after two allegedly antisemitic incidents in the past year.

First, he made what many believed to be an antisemitic gesture on a livestream with Adin Ross and N3on.

Then, he allegedly bit a woman and made an antisemitic remark on New Year’s Eve.

With Nacua facing a possible suspension under the NFL’s personal conduct policy, he appears to be trying to change his ways.

He said as much when he spoke on his offseason earlier this year.

“Some of the things I feel like I’ve learned is it’s OK to ask for support and to recognize that the platform that I have, being a professional football player,” Nacua said.

“And trying to use that for the betterment of myself and for those around me, and the people that have supported me.”

As Duarte noted, Nacua “celebrating alongside a Jewish family during one of its most meaningful traditions” is a visible representation of those efforts.

“This time, there was no controversy,” he wrote. “Just music, dancing and Nacua enjoying the party in the background.

“For a player who has spent much of 2026 trying to convince the Rams and himself that he has learned from an offseason filled with regrettable moments, the juxtaposition was difficult to miss.”
