Rejoice, college football fans! EA’s College Football 27 is right around the corner. The game officially releases on July 9, 2026, but MVP+ members get early access on July 2.
It’s nice to finally be able to count on a college football video game annually once again after a decade-long hiatus. Naturally, fans want to know how their favorite players and teams are rated, so today, we’re going to go over the main things to know about the Tennessee Volunteers.
We’ll talk about the Vols’ highest-rate player, position group ratings, and some other interesting things to know. Let’s get to it.
Tennessee Volunteers ratings in College Football 27
- DeSean Bishop, RB- 90 OVR
- Wendell Moe Jr., OL- 89 OVR
- David Sanders Jr., OL- 89 OVR
- Amare Campbell, MLB- 88 OVR
- Arion Carter, OLB- 88 OVR
- Braylon Staley, WR- 88 OVR
- Kayin Lee, CB- 87 OVR
- Mike Matthews, WR- 86 OVR
- Ty Redmond, CB- 84 OVR
- Xavier Gilliam, DT, OVR
There’s not much surprise at the top. Bishop is one of the nation’s top returning running backs and Moe and Sanders proved their worth as blockers up front. It’s nice to see a few transfer additions make the list, and goes to show how much talent the team brought in.
Positional group ratings
Now let’s take a look at the starting position group averages.
- Running backs, 86 OVR
- Wide receivers, 85 OVR
- Offensive line, 83 OVR
- Secondary, 83 OVR
- Tight ends, 82 OVR
- Linebackers, 82 OVR
- Kickers, punters, 81 OVR
- Quarterbacks, 80 OVR
- Defensive line, 80 OVR
It’s probably not ideal that defensive line and quarterback are the lowest-rated positions on the team. For those who are curious, George MacIntyre has an 80 overall while Faizon Brandon is not included in the initial base roster due to being in high school while the game was in development. He will likely be added in an update, along with the new Adidas uniforms.
Other notes
Tennessee fans were annoyed that neither CFB 25 nor 26 had Neyland Stadium as one of the toughest places to play. In 25, Neyland was ranked 13th, and it was ranked 12th in 26. This year, Neyland finally cracks the top 10, coming in at No. 8.
Additionally, the Vols have a team overall of 85, whichmeans only 15 teams have higher overalls. Tennessee, Missouri, and Michigan are the three teams starting at an 85.
