Jackson High School running back Ezavier “E.J.” Crowell has been named the offensive captain of the ALL‑USA Southeast Football Team, an honor befitting one of the most dominant playmakers in the nation.

Crowell’s season was a masterpiece. The 5‑foot‑11, 205‑pound junior led the state of Alabama in rushing with 2,620 yards on 207 carries and 35 touchdowns, averaging a staggering 12.6 yards per carry and 188 yards per game.

His postseason heroics cemented his legend: in the Class 4A state championship, Crowell erupted for 304 yards and five touchdowns on 25 carries, breaking the AHSAA 4A title‑game rushing record that had stood since 2000. His performance powered Jackson to its second consecutive state championship, extending a seven‑game winning streak to close the season.

His career numbers are equally jaw‑dropping. Through three seasons, Crowell has amassed 6,321 rushing yards and 91 touchdowns, placing him among the most productive running backs in Alabama high school history.

Recruiting attention has followed accordingly. A five‑star prospect, Crowell is rated the top player in Alabama and one of the nation’s premier running backs. He officially signed with Alabama this month.

Along with the other players selected to the ALL-USA Southwest Football Team, Crowell is a finalist for the national ALL-USA Football Team, which will be announced on Dec. 30.

The Southeast region includes honorees from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
