McKeesport, Pennsylvania junior running back Kemon Spell has been selected as the ALL‑USA East Football Team Offensive Player of the Year, capping one of the most dominant early careers of any player in the region.

Spell, the nation’s top-ranked running back in the Class of 2027 according to 247Sports, was spectacular. According to triblive.com, he rushed for 1,755 yards and 32 touchdowns. His team was 8-1 in games in which he played a full game. He had over 230 yards rushing in three games, including a season-high 331 against Thomas Jefferson in the WPIAL state semifinal game. His team finished as the state runner-up.

That followed an equally impressive sophomore season. He rushed for 1,681 yards on 157 carries, averaging an explosive 10.7 yards per attempt and scored 24 touchdowns. His postseason heroics included 280‑yard and 274‑yard rushing performances during McKeesport’s run to the WPIAL Class 4A championship game.

Across his first three varsity seasons, Spell has already amassed almost 4,000 rushing yards, including a 517‑yard, 12‑touchdown freshman campaign that helped the Tigers finish 11‑2.

At 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds, Spell blends power and burst, earning comparisons to NFL running back Blake Corum for his low center of gravity and relentless yards‑after‑contact ability. His recruiting profile reflects that reputation: Spell holds offers from national powers including Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA, Wisconsin and others. He originally committed to Penn State but decommitted in October.

Along with the other players selected to the ALL-USA East Football Team, Spell is a finalist for the national ALL-USA Football Team. That “All-American” team will be announced on Dec. 30.

The East region encompasses athletes from Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia.
