“College GameDay” analyst and ESPN college football expert Rece Davis ranked his top 10 teams entering Week 13. Davis’ top-five is the same as the College Football Playoff rankings.
In Davis’ AP Poll ballot, he has Ohio State at No. 1 and Indiana at No. 2. Next, he has a pair of SEC teams. Texas A&M is his No. 3 and the Georgia Bulldogs as his No. 4. The Bulldogs are his top ranked one-loss team and moved up after previous No. 4 Alabama’s loss to Oklahoma, who joined Davis’ top 10. No. 5 Texas Tech rounds out Davis’ top five. He moved Texas Tech up three spots from last week even though the Red Raiders beat an unimpressive UCF team.
Davis ranks Oregon as his No. 6 team and Mississippi as his No. 7 team. He then ranks Notre Dame No. 8 and Oklahoma No. 9. He dropped Alabama to No. 10. The playoff rankings have Oklahoma as the top ranked two-loss team ahead of Notre Dame.
Davis moved Miami up six spots after he ranked them No. 20 a week ago. Miami dominated NC State, but it is surprising to see so much movement from one week.
The GameDay host ranks Navy (No. 22) as his top Group of Five team, so they would be projected to make the playoff over Tulane, who is the top ranked Group of Five team for the selection committee.
