Clemsonfootball’s spring game on Saturday will still bring plenty of recruiting attention, even after hosting many top targets earlier this month for the Elite Retreat. While that event carried more weight on the calendar, the Orange and White game gives the staff another chance to evaluate and connect with prospects across multiple classes.
Several 2028 recruits headline the group making their way to campus.
Four-star quarterback Trace Hawkins out of Calhoun, Georgia, is one of the biggest names expected. He’s already building a strong offer list that includes Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Indiana and others. Hawkins was recently at Tennessee on March 21 and is scheduled to return to Clemson again on April 11, making this his first of two spring visits.
Running back Michael Martin from Greenville continues to show consistent interest in the Tigers. The three-star tailback is set for his third visit in March alone. Duke and North Carolina have both been involved in his recruitment this spring, and he also has a Penn State visit coming up.
Offensive tackle Reece Wilmes is another name to watch, especially with his family connection. He’s the younger brother of Clemson freshman Braden Wilmes, who has turned heads during spring practice. The Kansas native already holds offers from programs like Arkansas, Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa State.
In-state lineman Jeremiah McGowan will also be on hand. The three-star prospect from A.C. Flora has picked up offers from schools such as USC, Pittsburgh and Syracuse, and will be another key evaluation for the staff.
In the 2027 class, running back Carter Wallace stands out as one of the more important visitors. Clemson has been selective at the position, offering only a few backs so far. If another offer goes out, Wallace is a name to know. He was last on campus in January shortly after Chad Morris was hired as offensive coordinator.
Wide receiver Taurean Rawlins is also expected in town. While Clemson hasn’t offered yet, he already holds offers from Georgia, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Wisconsin. He has an official visit scheduled with Georgia on May 29, which is the same weekend Clemson is expected to host a major group of recruits.
Additional names to know include 2026 signee Cam Blivens, along with 2027 prospects Stafford Willis, Hayden Schwab, Nick Gordon, Xavier Geter, Dayon Cooper and Marcus White.
The 2028 group is expected to feature Trace Hawkins, Luke Toland, Dominick Sgambellone III, Robbie Dunn, Michael Martin II, Darias Johnson, Reece Wilmes, Jeremiah McGowan, Brody Lorenzo, Ryan Corrigan, Brenton Miller and Jackson Miller.

Looking further ahead, 2029 offensive lineman Jordan Lewis is also expected to be on campus.
Saturday won’t carry quite the same recruiting weight as earlier spring events, but it still gives Clemson a valuable opportunity to stay involved with a wide range of targets as momentum builds toward the summer.
