Notre Dame football is officially in game week, as it will take on Wisconsin next week for the Shamrock Series game in historic Lambeau Field.

The Irish themselves still have a few more position battles that aren’t decided, as the Badgers still had questions on who their starting quarterback will be. However, on Friday, they’ve named one, as Sean Wright posted on social media that Colton Joseph has beat out Ryan Hopkins and Deuce Adams for the job. Keep in mind that there still has not been an official announcement made yet, but this is the most logical choice.

The junior from California transferred from Old Dominion this offseason, after he was their starter for the past two seasons. He completed 59.8% of his passes for 4,251-yards for 32 touchdowns with 15 interceptions. Joseph is a big threat with his legs, rushing for over 1,000-yards last year, 1,654 yards total the last two years with 24 scores.

He makes the most sense over the other two competitors, as Hopkins is a true freshman and Adams had very limited playing time while with Louisville. There have been reports that the Wisconsin offense hasn’t looked all that great during fall camp, so it might be an introduction to the fire for Joseph when he faces a vaunted Notre Dame defense next weekend.
