Texas A&M’s quarterback future is interesting, to say the least, as incoming junior starter Marcel Reed will return for his second full season as the starter, but after Miles O’Neill transferred to North Carolina, all signs point to incoming sophomore Brady Hart being the backup, while freshman Helaman Casuga will likely end up as the third-string option during his rookie season.
Looking ahead, new quarterbacks coach, Joey Lynch, is already making progress on the recruiting trail, and while the 2027 recruiting class already features four-star QB commit Jayce Johnson, head coach Mike Elko and Lynch have gained ground with one of the top signal callers in the 2028 recruiting class.
Thanks to AggieYell insider Jaxson Callaway’s reporting, 2028 Florida-based four-star quarterback Brady Quinn, who put together an impressive outing during last weekend’s Hero7v7, has, as Callaway puts it, created “national buzz” and is being heavily pursued by several top schools, but has yet to receive an official offer from Texas A&M.
Speaking with Callaway, Quinn was impressed by Texas A&M’s success this past season, stating, “An offer from them would mean a lot to me,” if the Aggies come through. However, this should come to fruition soon, as Joey Lynch made his way out to Florida to visit Quinn in person for the first time, which reportedly went very well, according to the rising signal caller.
“I’ve really only just started to talk to Coach Lynch, so the relationship is new, but I’m definitely excited about building it,” Quinn stated. “He watched me throw and we talked about getting me up for a visit in the spring. We also went over my upcoming season.”
If Quinn receives an offer, a visit this spring is nearly guaranteed, and given the program’s steady rise in the SEC, Texas A&M could quickly become a leader in the four-star prospect’s recruitment in due time.
According to Rivals, Quinn is currently positioned as the 11th-ranked quarterback in the class and the 26th-ranked prospect in Florida.
