On3's Steve Wiltfong is projecting five-star Maxwell Hiller to land with the Florida Gators. The 6-foot-5.5-inch, 305-pound offensive lineman out of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, is one of the most coveted prospects in the 2027 cycle. Wiltfong logged the prediction with a confidence level of 60%, a forecast that reinforces a growing sentiment around Jon Sumrall's program.
Miller created a stir last month after dubbing the Gators a leader in his recruitment, amid strong bids from Power Four schools like Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee Volunteers and Ohio State Buckeyes, which remain in contention.
Florida's recent surge on the recruiting trail under Sumrall has amplified an optimistic buzz in Gainesville and has Gator Nation start to believe in the culture shift the former Tulane coach has been preaching since taking the role late last year.
The Gators are seeking their first five-star commitment in several cycles and landing Hiller would be a gigantic win and a validating achievement for Sumrall and his staff. A pledge of devotion from the blue-chipper could mark a turning point in how Florida is perceived on the trail and in the SEC moving forward.
Maxwell Hiller recruiting summary
Hiller is ranked No. 4 overall and No. 1 at his position nationally according to 247Sports composite, while the On3 industry ranking has him at No. 3. He has received 35 offers, including nine SEC programs, with Alabama, Tennessee and Ohio State listed as "warm" alongside Florida.
