Rocco Becht At Least Had Right Comments After Brutal Showing Against Wisconsin

Saturday felt just like the typical Penn State loss over the past two seasons, a very disappointing outcome for a game that the Nittany Lions simply had in the bag. This is not a fair time to start putting the blame on Matt Campbell and everybody else who is new within the program, but to say that things have been disappointing throughout the first four weeks would be very fair. 

Right now, Penn State doesn't feel all that good, if we're being honest. 

Of course, a lot can change over the next couple of weeks, but the simple fact of the matter here is that nobody did their job on Saturday. 

Penn State had this game won, and the offense went quiet, the defense blew a big lead, and the coaching staff didn't do what it had to do on either side of the football.

If there are any positives coming after this game, it doesn't feel like anybody is pointing fingers at anyone or trying not to take the blame. 

All of Penn State seems to understand that it didn't play the type of football that it was expected to, including quarterback Rocco Becht, who had some short comments to make but showed that he has accountability for the loss.

“You know, I feel like the effort and everything was there. Details might be a little off in some areas, but again, that’s just us having to be better in practice, having to be better on the field, and communicating more.

“Yeah, I don’t think that has anything to do with it. You know, we’ve all been here. We’re all older guys on the team. We have played in big games before, and I don’t think that has anything to do with it. We just didn’t come out with the win today. We have to be better at doing our jobs,” Becht said, per the school.

Frankly, Becht was horrible in this game, and there's really no other way to put it. For a guy who has been around college football for a very long time now, playing in his fifth season, he was not good enough on Saturday for Penn State to get this win. 

He was just 12 of 29 for 114 yards, one of the worst passing stat lines that we've seen out of a Penn State quarterback in quite some time.

Again, I don't want to start pointing fingers or say that guys have to do this, this, and that, but if Penn State continues to play this way, there are going to be some very angry fans and donors over the next couple of months.
