This Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, the Alabama Crimson Tide will put their seven-game winning streak on the line in a high-profile SEC showdown against the LSU Tigers.

Annually one of college football’s most anticipated matchups, Alabama and LSU this season is shaping up to be no different than previous meetings, even despite the Tigers struggles up to this point in the season.

This season’s matchup features a ranked Alabama team hosting an unranked LSU program who will be playing the first game under interim head coach Frank Wilson. The Crimson Tide are also red hot having won seven-straight, while LSU has lost three of their last four.

Following are Roll Tide Wire’s predictions for the showdown between Alabama and LSU in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.

Matt Melton’s prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 34, LSU Tigers 23

Following the bye week, Alabama is likely to get the best of a rested LSU team Saturday night, but it will likely not be enough to hand the Crimson Tide their first home loss under Kalen DeBoer. I’ll go with Alabama by a touchdown at the least, and for the Crimson Tide to look to make a statement Saturday night.

Steve Holley’s prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 27, LSU Tigers 20

Alabama-LSU is usually pretty close even when the records say otherwise. Remember 2021 when Bama was a big favorite? The Tigers still have talent, and their 5-3 record is far from being outright horrendous. That’s why I’m leaning toward this being a one-score game. The Tide needed their bye week after such a brutal five-game stretch against ranked opponents, plus a road scare at South Carolina. Hopefully that bye week doesn’t come with a lot of residual rust.

LSU is playing with house money and has nothing to lose Saturday night, so expect the Tigers and interim coach Frank Wilson and offensive coordinator Alex Atkins to throw the kitchen sink at Alabama’s defense. Keep an eye out for backup quarterback Michael Van Buren, who played well in spots for Mississippi State last year and who Wilson dangled as a potential weapon this week.

A few things about Kane Wommack’s defense still concern me. I think Ty Simpson plays well against an LSU defense that’s gone south, but it would behoove Alabama to get off to a good start against an opponent that’s been knocked around lately. The bottom line is that if LSU players have checked out, it certainly won’t be because Brian Kelly was fired. Alabama by 7-8.

Rob King’s prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 34, LSU Tigers 20

Alabama’s offense has another strong game led by Ty Simpson. LSU does get pressure on Ty. Some passes get deflected, but not intercepted. Bama has offensive line issues against a good defensive line. Bama leads at halftime by a touchdown. Halftime adjustments favor Bama. Ryan Grubb’s creative play calling and Ty Simpson’s smart decisions allow Alabama to pull away in second half, 34-20, Alabama.

Jake Boico’s prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 34, LSU Tigers 14

Alabama will enter Saturday’s contest on a seven-game win streak as the Tide will have an excellent opportunity to thrive once again against Garrett Nussmeier and the LSU Tigers. The Alabama defense will look to continue playing elite football against one of the most talked about quarterbacks at the college level, and I believe Alabama will defeat the Tigers with authority in Tuscaloosa by a score of 34-14.
