Ahead of a huge clash this weekend, Ole Miss is under the impression that former head coach Lane Kiffin is playing games by listing LSU QB1 Sam Leavitt as doubtful for Saturday’s game against the Rebels.

The game most college football fans have circled on Saturday’s schedule is the SEC battle between Ole Miss and LSU. Not just because it is a clash between a pair of top-10 schools, but because of the Kiffin factor.

The coach came to Ole Miss six years ago and turned the program into a CFB playoff contender over the last couple of years. However, he then used that success to land the same job at one of the sport’s prestigious programs, LSU. Making matters worse is that Kiffin left the Rebels high and dry before last season’s playoffs.

Kiffin facing his former team as the new leader of a conference rival is a fascinating storyline that is sure to draw a lot of eyeballs to ABC on Saturday night. Yet, before the two teams take to the field, Kiffin is engaged in some eyerolling gamesmanship, according to folks at Ole Miss.

On Wednesday, LSU’s starting QB was listed as doubtful on the team’s latest injury report. It was an unexpected and major development that would seemingly make Ole Miss a heavy favorite in Week 3. However, ESPN’s Pete Thamel claims Rebels coaches and officials aren’t buying the injury news.
