Rutgers Adds Official Visits From 3 2027 Defensive Tackle Prospects

In the past week, Rutgers has added three official visits for defensive tackle, a position it has struggled to recruit over the past few years, according to Rivals/On3. These include Florida 3-star Defensive lineman Duke Carpenter, unranked Florida defensive line prospect Akhcuonam Augustin, and three-star South Carolina defensive tackle prospect Dennis Glenn Jr. Carpenter will be on campus this weekend, while Glenn Jr and Augustine will make the trip on June 6th.

Carpenter stands at 6-foot-5, 252 pounds, Augustin stands at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, and Glenn Jr. weighs in at 6-foot-3, 275 pounds.

Augustin is currently favored to land at UCF, while Glenn Jr. is favored to land at Virginia Tech, and Carpenter is favored to land at Wake Forest. Rutgers will hope to use these recruiting weekends to leave a lasting impression and flip some of these prospects back in their favor.

Augustin currently holds offers from schools like UCF, Illinois, UConn, and FIU. Glenn Jr holds offers from Virginia Tech, NC State, Cincinnati, and Kentucky. Carpenter has offers from Wake Forest, Stanford, and UCF.

Carpenter finished his junior year at the Geneva School in Winter Park, Florida, with 69 tackles (25 TFL), 13 sacks, 1 INT, and 1 FF per 247sports. Glenn Jr. was a multi-sport athlete for Boiling Springs High School, competing in track and field as well as in high school. Stats for Glenn Jr.’s and Augustin’s junior years are yet to be released.
