Big Ten media days are almost upon us, with coaches and players around the Big Ten gearing up to start the festivities tomorrow. The teams will be split across three days, with Rutgers set to have its air time on the first day, Tuesday, July 28, along with Illinois, Iowa, USC, Wisconsin, and Penn State.
During the media days, each team will have a segment where their head coach takes the podium alone to answer media questions, one where he is in the studio talking to the show’s hosts, and one segment where the three players they selected to bring with them will speak with representatives from the Big Ten Network.
Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano is slated to take the podium at 12:45 p.m. ET and will join the studio at 3:15 p.m. as well. Rutgers student-athlete representatives wide receiver KJ Duff, running back Antwan Raymond, and offensive lineman Kwabena Asamoah will appear at 3 p.m. ET. All three segments will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
All three players earned all-American status last season by at least one outlet and were considered top retention targets for Rutgers in the transfer portal when it opened up. Last season, KJ Duff finished the year with 1,084 receiving yards while Raymond recorded 1,241 rushing yards. None of them would have been possible without a decent offensive line holding back the defense. Asamoah was one of the key anchors on that line.
The other schools will have their representatives talk to the media on the two other days. Wednesday, July 29, will have Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue, Ohio State, Oregon, and UCLA, while Thursday, July 30, will be Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Washington, Nebraska, and Northwestern.
