Three recruits visited Rutgers on an unofficial visit during the first weekend of spring camp, according to the visit tracker for On3/Rivals. These types of visits can prove pivotal in the race for recruits, especially considering that the Scarlet Knights only have one commit in the class of 2027 so far.

Two players made their way to campus on Friday, March 27th. The first one is four-star EDGE Marvin Nguetsop from St. Thomas More High School in Connecticut, and the second is unranked Athlete Isaiah Green from Lawrence Academy in Massachusetts. Rutgers is competing with schools like Georgia and South Carolina for Nguetsop while competing with Army and Syracuse for Green.

The final recruit to take an unofficial visit to Rutgers this past weekend made his way up to campus on Saturday, March 29th. That recruit being high three star interior offensive lineman, DaJohn Yarborough from Basha High School in Arizona. DaJohn is a quickly rising offensive line prospect in the class of 2027 and he already has a host of Power Four offers, most prominently from schools such as Alabama, Nebraska, Washington, Minnesota, Florida State, and Cal.

According to reports by both Scarlet Nation and The Knight Report, Yarborough seems to have really enjoyed his most recent trip to Rutgers, and that the Knights are climbing the ladder in the race for his commitment. He currently stands at 6-foot-5, 330 pounds, making his body an ideal mold for college coaches. Rutgers offensive line coach Jim Turner, who has been very active on the recruitment trail so far, will hope to secure Yarborough’s commitment to secure his units first commitment of the 2027 class.

In addition to the three that visited this past weekend, several other recruits are eyeing to take unofficial visits this month to Rutgers during their spring practices before the official visits kickoff in late May. Rutgers will hope to have a few commitments secured before those visits come around.
