Rutgers football’s defensive makeover isn’t over just yet.
The Scarlet Knights are adding Maryland transfer cornerback Kevyn Humes, who will bolster depth in the secondary and brings valuable Big Ten experience.
The 6-foot, 185-pound Humes has two years of eligibility remaining.
Humes, the 13th transfer the Scarlet Knights have added, had been committed to Boston College but flipped to Rutgers after visiting the school
Humes was a four-star recruit out of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore and held offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Oregon and others before choosing to stay close to home.
He’s a dynamic athlete with 4.4 40-yard dash speed and a 37-inch vertical jump.
Humes is a solid addition for the Scarlet Knights’ defense, which is hoping to bounce back from a disappointing campaign this past season.
