Rutgers football continues to bolster defense with DE transfer addition

Rutgers football has continued to bolster its defense through the transfer portal.

The Scarlet Knights on Jan. 4 added defensive end Malachi Davis, who had spent the previous three seasons at Toledo, a source confirmed.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Davis had 35 tackles and 5.5 sacks this past season.

Davis, a native of Holt, Michigan, has one year of eligibility remaining.

Rutgers landed a transfer addition earlier in the day as the program announced the signing of Villanova transfer cornerback Zahmir Dawud.
