Rutgers Wide Receiver KJ Duff Named to On3’s Preseason All-America Third Team

Rutgers wide receiver KJ Duff has been named to another preseason honor list, as he has been named to On3’s preseason All-America third team. He is joined by Texas A&M wide receiver Mario Craver, who was also named to the third team.

This honor is another preseason honor in a long list of them for Duff, who is getting recognized for his stellar play last season. Last year, the sophomore standout recorded 60 catches for 1,087 yards and seven touchdowns, making him the first wide receiver to record 1,000 yards receiving in a single season since Leonte Carroo achieved the feat in 2014.

Standing at 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, Duff’s bigger frame and overall athletic ability make him a difficult task to guard. His best performance last season came in Rutgers win over Purdue, where he made six catches for 241 yards and one touchdown.

Malachi Toney from Miami and Jeremiah Smith from Ohio State were named to the first team while Cam Coleman from Texas and Charlie Becker from Indiana were selected to the second team.

Duff’s production next season will hinge on the capability of Rutgers starting quarterback to get him the ball. The Scarlet Knights have still not named a starting quarterback, however, head coach Greg Schiano said in a press conference that they would like to have one named soon after the teams first scrimmage.
