Last weekend’s bye couldn’t have come at a better time for the Texas Longhorns. The off-week allowed UT to heal up for the home stretch. Texas is fully healthy. That includes two Longhorns starters, safety Michael Taaffe and wide receiver Ryan Wingo.

Wingo has been dealing with a thumb injury that he suffered in the first quarter against Vanderbilt after scoring a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the game. Taaffe has been out since mid-October after having thumb surgery, which sidelined him for several weeks.

For the first time this season (or last season), Texas Football’s official injury report with the SEC is completely clean. UT listed zero players on the list.

That’s also good news for defensive back Jelani McDonald. The Waco native suffered a concussion against Vanderbilt and has successfully made his way through the concussion protocol.

Texas will need all hands on deck for the most important game of the year. If the Horns upset Georgia, their chances at the college football playoff get a nice boost.

Texas travels to Athens to take on Georgia between the hedges Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT.
