NORMAN — OU football is losing linebacker Sammy Omosigho to the transfer portal.
The junior from Heartland, Texas, is entering the transfer portal, he announced Wednesday via Instagram.
Omosigho joins linebacker Kobie McKinzie and defensive lineman Markus Strong as expected defensive contributors in 2026 to enter the portal.
Omosigho didn’t start a game this past season but appeared in all of them. The third-year player tallied 50 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
Omosigho was a consensus four-star and top-200 recruit in the 2023 class. Omosigho’s departure comes as the Sooners added Michigan linebacker Cole Sullivan in the transfer portal.
The lone transfer portal window ahead of the 2026 season will remain open through Jan. 16.
