See which AA and A football players from Section 4 made all-state

Section 4 champions Union-Endicott and Elmira have joined Horseheads in each putting two players on the New York State Sports Writers Association all-state football teams for the 2025 season.
There were eight all-state picks from Section 4 in classes AA and A.
Selections were announced Wednesday, Jan. 14. Steve Grandin of the NYSSWA edited the teams based on nominations collected from correspondents across the state.
Players of the Year were running back/linebacker Ja’Quan Thomas of William Floyd and quarterback Julian Guzman of Iona Prep in Class AA; and quarterback Carson Miller of Rye in Class A.
All-state picks in the other four classes were announced last week.
Class A all-state
Union-Endicott junior running back Robert Mabry Jr. received the highest selection, earning second-team honors in Class A after rushing for 1,223 yards and 15 touchdowns while helping the Tigers advance to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association semifinals.
U-E senior quarterback Joey Gennarelli Jr. earned third-team all-state honors.
Horseheads all-state picks in Class A were senior wingback/defensive back Patrick Laney, a third-team pick at defensive back; and junior running back/defensive back Bryce Thomas, a fifth-team choice at defensive back.
Vestal junior quarterback Josh Kweller was a sixth-team selection.
Class A honorable mentions from Section 4 were Vestal junior running back Cayden Kitchin, Horseheads junior offensive end Elijah Miller, Horseheads senior offensive lineman Wyatt Macneal, and Horseheads senior linebacker Liam Morrissey.
Class AA all-state
Elmira senior Julian Colon was a third-team Class AA all-state pick at defensive back who also excelled at receiver/running back on special teams.
Elmira senior fullback/linebacker Daeshaun “Dash” Harris was named to the Class AA fifth team as a linebacker.
Also earning all-state honors from Section 4 was Corning two-way standout Clayton Smith, a sixth-team pick at linebacker who starred at running back.
Receiving honorable mention in Class AA from Section 4 were Elmira senior quarterback Zach Conklin and senior running back Arius Bradbury; and Corning senior tight end Dylan Brewster and senior offensive lineman Micky Place.
