Seeger hires former Lafayette Jeff DC Scott Cronk as head coach

WEST LEBANON – Seeger football has found success under former coach TJ Ragan, achieving its first nine-win season since 2006.

Former Lafayette Jeff defensive coordinator Scott Kronk has been named Ragan’s successor.

Kronk spent his previous 11 seasons running the Bronchos offense.

But prior to his tenure at Lafayette Jeff, he spent 14 seasons as an assistant at Seeger and helped the program capture its lone state title, winning the 2A title in 2004.

“We’re really excited to have Coach Cronk back,” Seeger athletic director Nate Davis said. “He’s got a background at Seeger and also the success he’s had at Lafayette Jeff running the defense. We are beyond happy that Coach Cronk was interested in our position.”

Cronk will look to build on Seeger’s 9-3 success from 2025. He’s a first-time head coach at 56.

“I’m excited,” Cronk said. “It’s like I’m going home and I’m ready to get rolling.”

His accolades include two semi-state, two regional, and five sectional championships during his time at Lafayette Jeff and Seeger.

“At Lafayette Jeff, we had the mentality that we aren’t going to be the biggest or the fastest, but we are going to play hard,” Cronk said. “We are going to play fast and be relentless in what we do. And I think the proof is in the stats and the kids always played hard and competed. Hopefully, we can bring that with us.”

At Seeger, he was on a staff that won 43 straight Wabash River Conference games.

As a defensive coordinator, he helped Lafayette Jeff capture three sectional titles in the last four seasons.

“We had a great staff, administration, leadership, parts and the right pieces you need to have a successful program,” Cronk said. “We had good buy-in from the students. I can’t take credit for that. I was just part of the process.”

Seeger graduates 13 seniors and large pieces that made 2025 a success.
