Texas A&M’s No. 1-ranked 2027 class secured its 26th commitment after four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen chose the Aggies over Texas and South Carolina, joining five-star Kaden Henderson and rising three-star Aston Whiteside, all of whom will complete A&M’s future linebacker rotation. Among the six five-star commits, which leads the nation, four of the program’s commits steadily rose in the Rivals300 Rankings on Monday.

Heading into his third season at the helm, coach Mike Elko made several staff elevations, promoting Holmon Wiggins as the new offensive coordinator after Collin Klein took over as Kansas State’s head coach, and naming Lyle Hemphil the new defensive coordinator after Jay Bateman departed for Kentucky.

Texas A&M’s ace recruiters, running backs coach Trooper Taylor and defensive line coach Tony Jerod-Eddie, have been on equally impressive heaters, helping land more than half of the 26 commitments, while cornerbacks coach Ismael Aristide is responsible for unanimous five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey and four-star safety JayQuan Snell.

Texas A&M’s top-ranked commit is five-star offensvie tackle Mark Matthews, who is now the No. 2 overall ranked prospect in the updated rankings, while Dorsey rose to No. 19. Ten of the Aggies’ 26 commits are ranked within the top 100, while Aston Whiteside (No. 253) and versatile athlete Errol Kerns (No. 285) entered the top 300, which is highly impressive given their underrated status.

While five-star running back Landon Williams-Callis is expected to land with the Texas Longhorns, Mike Elko and his staff will continue to pursue the blue-chip back and current Texas Tech running back commit, SaRod Baker, this fall.
