What if the 2013 Iron Bowl would have gone to overtime?

With the score tied at 28, Crimson Tide running back TJ Yeldon ran for 24 yards to the Auburn 38-yard-line and stepped out of bounds as time expired. Coach Nick Saban – who was attempting to lead undefeated No. 1 Alabama to a third straight national championship, lobbied for a review.

One second was put back on the clock, and Adam Griffith attempted a 55-yard field goal instead of long-range kicker Cade Foster, who was 0 of 3 on his attempts that day.

Griffith's kick dropped short of the goal post and Auburn defensive back Chris Davis fielded it in the back of the end zone. Once Davis ran past Alabama tight end Brian Vogler, it was over. Davis sprinted 109 yards for a walk-off game-winning touchdown that clinched the SEC West for the No. 4 Tigers. The late Rod Bramblett's radio call still echoes on both sides to this day: "Auburn's gonna win the football game! Auburn's gonna win the football game!"

This is the defining play in one of the nation’s most bitter rivalries – at least for now.
