Social media buzz following Penn State's Week 3 game vs. Buffalo

State ran all over Buffalo in Week 3, leaving no doubt against the overmatched Bulls. Penn State rushed for over 300 yards of offense and had contributions from multiple players in the running game as Penn State cruised to a 55-13 victory in Week 3 to wrap up an undefeated non-conference portion of the schedule.

After the game, it was a cause for some postgame celebration.

Given the non-conference schedule in front of them, Penn State was expected to easily get off to a solid start. They did just that with double-digit victories against Marshall, Temple, and Buffalo. Penn State was favored by large margins in each of those games and managed to win each of those games by comfortable results. Outside of a slow start on the road at Temple, the Penn State offense put up a good point total and the defense was tough to score on through the first three games of the season.

Penn State's Week 3 win against Buffalo was energized by a resurgence on the ground. Following a relatively slower start running the football than most anticipated, the Nittany Lions exploded for over 300 rushing yards against Buffalo, and it was highlighted by some big chunk plays from multiple players.

Joining in the fun was Cam Wallace, who has worked his way back to playing a meaningful role on the roster this season.

Of course, despite a big day from the running game, it is fair to wonder if Penn State will be able to keep up this level of success now that Big Ten play is here. The defensive challenges are about to get more physical, after all.

Former Penn State star Matt Millen was on the Big Ten Network broadcast crew for the game, and he was caught slipping a "we" when referring to Penn State. But perhaps one comment didn't stand the test of time as the game played out.

But what about the game from rising star wide receiver Koby Howard? Comments about how the previous coaching staff had Koby Howard tucked away on the bench last season popped up once again this week as Howard was making big plays once again. Just three games into the season, is it time to put Koby Howard on record watch?

We'll see what the social media buzz is like next week following Penn State's Big Ten opener. Penn State hosts Wisconsin next Saturday for the first Big Ten game of the season for each program. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. ET from Beaver Stadium.
