The Oklahoma Sooners pulled off an incredible win over the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday afternoon and moved to 8-2 on the year and 4-2 in SEC play. The Sooners kept their College Football Playoff hopes alive with two games remaining, and it’s the Sooners’ second-straight win over a top-five Alabama team since joining the SEC.

It was the Sooners’ second-straight win on the road over a top 25 opponent after beating Tennessee two weeks ago. It’s Oklahoma’s fourth win over an AP Top 25 team this season. It came on the back of a great defensive effort. The Sooners forced three turnovers, including an interception return for a touchdown from Eli Bowen.

This was a statement win for the Brent Venables era. His defense took over the game down the stretch, keeping Alabama from scoring on their final four drives and preserving a two-point lead for the win. The Sooners brought an end to Alabama’s 17-game home winning streak in the process.

There’s still work to do with two games remaining against Missouri and LSU, but Oklahoma put itself in a position to control its own destiny. Here’s how social media reacted to the win.
