COLUMBIA — The kickoff time for coach Shane Beamer and South Carolina football’s home game against Coastal Carolina has been finalized.
The Gamecocks (3-6, 1-6 SEC) will host the Chanticleers (6-3, 5-1 SBC) on Nov. 22 at 4:15 p.m. ET in Williams-Brice Stadium, the penultimate game for South Carolina. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network, the conference announced Nov. 10.
South Carolina needs three more wins to reach bowl eligibility but before its game against Coastal, has to take down No. 3 Texas A&M on the road on Nov. 15 (noon ET, ESPN).
Coach Shane Beamer has never faced the fellow in-state team but South Carolina did in 2013 and 2018. The Gamecocks won 70-10 in 2013 when Coastal was still playing at the FCS level, then won 45-19 in the 2018 season opener.
The annual Palmetto Bowl against Clemson on Nov. 29 will close the season season.
On Oct. 18, the Chanticleers beat Appalachian State 45-37. App State is coached by Dowell Loggains, who was Beamer’s offensive coordinator for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Beamer hired Mike Shula last December to replace Loggains, but fired Shula on Nov. 2 after the sixth loss in the last seven games.
