South Carolina and Mississippi State's SEC regular-season opener on Saturday, Sept. 19, is currently in a weather delay.
Just before kickoff at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina, the Week 3 contest between the Gamecocks and Bulldogs was sent into a delay due to severe weather in the area. It's unclear if the delay was sparked by lightning in the area.
Both teams were scheduled for a 4:15 p.m. ET kickoff.
The Gamecocks and Bulldogs are the second notable SEC game to start in a weather delay, with the other being Alabama-Florida State in Tuscaloosa.
