Stephen A. Smith thinks Trinidad Chambliss is ready for the big stage

No. 4 Ole Miss is three days removed from a massive home win against LSU.
Former head coach Lane Kiffin returned to Oxford for the first time since taking the LSU gig and lost 32-24. Ole Miss intercepted LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt in the end zone on LSU’s final drive, giving the Rebels a key SEC win.

Before that interception, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss was on fire, especially in the first half. He finished the half with 21 completions for 248 yards and two touchdowns, then finished the game with 363 yards through the air, two touchdowns and one interception.
In three games, Chambliss has 924 passing yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions. He has added 64 yards and a pair of scores on the ground.
Smith declares Chambliss ‘ready for center stage’
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is super impressed with Chambliss and thinks he’s ready for the NFL.
“The arm talent is there,” Smith said on “First Take.” “He’s got a rifle of an arm. He can throw the football as well. 6-2 against AP-ranked opponents as Ole Miss’s starting quarterback, including 3-2 against top-10 teams in his career. Over the three games this year, coming in with these expectations, he’s completing 70 percent of his passes, 924 yards, which is ninth in the nation, seven touchdowns, just two interceptions, averaging 308 passing yards per game. In the SEC, this is what this brother is doing.”
Smith added, “He’s showing you he’s ready for center stage.”

Chambliss will face another tough test this weekend when Ole Miss travels to “The Swamp” to take on No. 21 Florida on Saturday. It’s another ranked game for Chambliss and Ole Miss after beating LSU.
Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
