Sun Belt Championship Race Predictions: Breaking Down the Rest of the Season
NCAAF College Football News, Photos, Stats, Scores, Schedule & Videos...
Out of all the conference races going into the final weeks of the 2025 regular season, the Sun Belt is among the easiest – if form holds.
The only conference still hanging on to the divisional format, at this point, there are only four teams realistically alive in the Sun Belt Championship chase.
Of course, there are still chances for this to get all screwed up, but for now, we’re not going to dive into all the crazy tie-breakers and possibilities if the bottom drops out for the two divisional leaders.
Going into Week 12, below are our picks for the Sun Belt Championship, the predicted final conference standings, the three biggest remaining games, and we make our call on every team’s remaining games and final record.
Sun Belt Championship Prediction
James Madison over Southern Miss
This will be one of the best under-the-radar conference championship games among the glut.
Golden Eagle head coach Charles Huff is going for his second straight title after winning with Marshall last year, while JMU head man Bob Chesney might be seen as Mini Cignetti and could be the hot name on the coaching carousel. (Huff should be on that ride, too.)
Three Most Important Remaining Games of the Sun Belt Season
1. Troy at Southern Miss, Nov.29
This is Troy’s shot to win the West, just like …
2. James Madison at Coastal Carolina, Nov. 29
This is the Chanticleers’ shot to win the East, but …
3. Coastal Carolina at Georgia Southern, Nov. 15
James Madison could lock up the East if Coastal Carolina loses this.
