Advertisements will be going up this season at Michigan Stadium. Google Gemini, Meijer, and Coca-Cola will be featured on Michigan’s padded end zone walls, as well as on the jumbotron.

Earlier this week, we asked fans if they loved or hated ads going up inside Michigan Stadium. The results are in, and fans aren’t liking the changes.

75% of fans hate that there are now advertisements in Michigan Stadium, while 25% love them.

The immediate hate is understandable from a fanbase so rich in tradition. Ads are new to Michigan Stadium, and there’s a natural dislike of change. However, new revenue streams are needed with the current nature of college football and all the money it takes via NIL to field a competitive team.

Tony Garcia of The Detroit Free Press reported Michigan projects around $297 million in athletics revenue and expenses in the 2026-27 season. Further, the NIL budget for the football team is around $35-40 million — a number likely to continue going up if there isn’t a salary cap implemented. While advertisements at Michigan Stadium aren’t popular now, it won’t matter nearly as much if Michigan wins on the field and consistently competes for championships. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, Michigan has the fifth-highest odds of winning the Big Ten at +1600.
