As the Syracuse football season approaches, we still don’t have any word on a jersey sponsor but the Orange did link a sponsorship deal for 2026.

\n

The Orange are one of 13 football programs to sign a deal with Progressive Insurance to add branding to the field this Fall.

\n

\n

Progressive is slated to unveil a major deal that will see its logo featured on 13 football fields this fall, those involved tell @SBJ.

Exact terms weren't immediately available, but the multiyear agreement is believed to be coterminous.

We don’t know the specifics for Syracuse but it appears that the Progressive logo will appear in some different spots based on schools.

\n

Boise State will have it at midfield, which is unlikely in the JMA Dome because that’s where Ernie Davis Legends Field occupies territory.

\n

Ole Miss, Purdue and Colorado will have the logo around the 25 yard lines, which is probably what we’ll get in the Dome opposite the ACC logos.

Sponsorship revenue is great, but it is too much to ask that we get some collaboration with the Progressive commercials? No, we don’t need Flo and Jamie at the JMA Dome, but let’s get Dr. Rick up to help young Orange fans to stop acting like their parents:

\n

    \n

  • Complaining about the rap music played
  • \n

  • Lamenting the cashless concessions
  • \n

  • Talking about how they had to rough it without individual seats or air conditioning
  • \n

\n

With any luck we can roll this deal right into basketball so Dr. Rick and Gerry Mac can talk about how not to get caught on televeision picking your nose, or maybe the best way to throw a sports coat for maximum effect.
