The Syracuse Orange barely squeaked by the UConn Huskies after nearly blowing a 20-point lead. The once-dominant win turned close victory is reflected in this week’s rankings.

Syracuse continues with its road trip, now heading south to Charlottesville to face the Virginia Cavaliers. Here’s how the rest of the college football world feels about the Orange heading into their next ACC game.

ESPN

Syracuse jumped up six spots in ESPN’s SP+ rankings. It’s now at No. 68 overall. Syracuse is also ranked 87th on offense, 60th on defense, and 68th on special teams, according to SP+.

Virginia fell big time, moving down 27 spots to No. 48.

Syracuse did fall three spots to No. 66 in ESPN’s College Football Power Index. FPI has the Orange between 4.6 and 7.4 wins, with a 25.5% chance of reaching at least six victories.

CBS Sports

Syracuse moved from No. 72 to No. 71 in CBS Sports’ FBS rankings. Virginia is at No. 49.

The Athletic

The Orange moved five spots, from No. 81 to No. 76, in The Athletic’s FBS rankings. Virginia fell from No. 32 to No. 39.

College Football News

Syracuse dropped nine spots in the latest College Football News rankings. It went from No. 76 to No. 85. Virginia went from No. 49 to No. 56.
