Take note, Jayden Maiava: Julian Sayin rated best Big Ten QB

It remains up for debate who the best quarterback in the Big Ten is. After last season, it was clear Julian Sayin had room to grow. He wasn't nearly as good as Indiana's Fernando Mendoza. Julian Sayin definitely has something to prove and is a top quarterback in the country. However, his stats may drive him higher than he should be ranked, relative to USC's Jayden Maiava.

In a recent article, Paul Myerberg makes a bold claim about Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin. Here is what he had to say about Sayin being the top quarterback in the Big Ten:

"Maybe the biggest hurdle to Sayin claiming the Heisman Trophy is his teammate, wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who is widely seen as the best pound-for-pound player in the country. To his credit, Sayin is coming off a year with 3,610 yards and 32 touchdowns while averaging 9.2 yards per attempt. There’s every reason to think he’ll take another step forward in 2026 under new OSU offensive coordinator Arthur Smith."

Last season, Sayin had the best season of any quarterback in the Big Ten heading into this year. He was amazing, but so were a lot of other people in the Buckeyes' offense who played a part in his success. Sayin definitely deserves credit for the season he had, but if you give other quarterbacks the best player in college football jeremiah Smith, and a receiver who was the #4th overall pick in the last draft, they will have the same success, if not more. A lot went right for Sayin to be as good as he was this last season. I think he will have a great season once again this year, but I think a Dante Moore and maybe an underrated guy in Jayden Maiava will give him a run for his money for the best quarterback in the Big Ten title.
