Three-star wide receiver Cedrick Simmons has reportedly committed to Auburn, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett

Simmons is a talented receiver that could have potentially made a major impact on the Crimson Tide’s offense. The route runner chose Auburn over Alabama and Purdue, per Fawcett, as Simmons had the Tide listed as a top landing spot until his commitment decision. Simmons recently took an official visit to Alabama prior to announcing his final decision, but the receiver has ultimately decided to play for the Tigers over the Tide nonetheless.

Simmons is currently ranked as the No. 40 athlete and the No. 629 overall player from the class of 2027, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is listed as the No. 24 overall player out of Alabama as well, attending Selma High School.

Alabama has targeted some of the top overall players from the class of 2027 throughout the offseason, and the Tide will now turn elsewhere following Simmons’ Auburn commitment.
