TCU had the weekend off, but that did not stop the Horned Frogs from getting in on the action, or rather lack thereof, during the Labor Day finale.

One of the program's biggest rivals, SMU was set up for a primetime showdown against Florida State in Tallahassee to open ACC play and round out the sport's opening week.

The matchup had an initial kickoff time of around 6:30 p.m. However, a massive power outage affected the Seminoles' Doak S. Campbell Stadium and left the entire country waiting nearly two hours.

While it was not able to pass the blame onto the Mustangs, TCU apparently could not pass up the opportunity to take an indirect shot at the situation as a whole.

In the midst of the extensive stoppage, the official TCU Football account on X shared a video of Amon G. Carter with various light displays being shown.

It was captioned, "LIGHTS ON. THIS SATURDAY," alongside an emoji of a face with starry eyes.

Although there is nothing tying the post back to the debacle at Florida State, the timing of its release would be a nearly unbelievable coincidence.

TCU was not the only program to seemingly take a swing at the absurdity taking place in Tallahassee.

None other than Baylor, the third member of a shared rivalry between TCU and SMU, got in on the jokes with a video of its own depicting lights at McLane Stadium ahead of its home opener this Saturday.

But this time, the Horned Frogs were aiming to fire off at one of their most hated opponents.

"That's it. That seals the deal. I am no longer a Baylor Football fan. Stadium lights are a serious matter. I officially will not be renewing my season ticket nor will I watch on tv ever again. I’m going to TCU Football where they know how to take lighting seriously," read a reply on Baylor's post.

The response was a tongue-and-cheek reference to a common meme that swirls around the college football sphere that is commonly used to troll opposing fanbases online.

Nonetheless, it was a witty remark from an official page and helps stoke the flames of one of the fiercest rivalries in the Lone Star State.

The lengthy outage was one of the most bizarre scenes in the recent memory of college football and TCU took full effect of the situation to earn some laughs on social media, with a few coming at the expense of the Bears.

But the time for humor will soon be over, as the Horned Frogs will head into Amon G. Carter for their home opener with Grambling State. They will look to get things back on track against the Bulldogs under the lights that appear to be very much in working order.
