Florida State is looking to add another tight end prospect in the 2027 recruiting class to go along with three-star Connor Winn. One of their top targets is Sam Faniel, a three-star recruit out of Richmond, Virginia.
The 6-foot-4.5, 210-pounder has locked in five official visits across the spring and summer. One of them is at FSU on June 5, per Greg Biggins of Rivals. He'll also visit Arizona State (April 17), Virginia Tech (May 29), Texas A&M (June 12), and Alabama (June 19).
Faniel has around 30 offers from some of the nation's top programs. However, certain schools are standing out more than others, and he revealed who they were.
“The schools recruiting me the hardest right now are Arizona State, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Alabama, Nebraska, Colorado and Texas A&M,” Faniel said.
Faniel is fresh off dominating the Adidas Polynesian Bowl Combine last weekend. He was named the top performer at the event. For his efforts, Faniel earned an invite to the 2027 Adidas Polynesian Bowl.
Rivals' industry rankings have Faniel listed as the No. 397 overall recruit and the No. 24 tight end in the country. He's the No. 8 prospect in the state of Virginia as well.
